Hello, my name is Dr. Liana Lorenzo-Echeverri. I am so glad you stopped by! I would like for you to get to know a bit about me so that you may gain a better idea of what type of therapy I do and if you envision us working together towards your goals!

I obtained my Master's and Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University (NSU). I maintain a professional membership with Postpartum Support International. I am also a member of Delta Kappa, the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society.

My passion is working with mommies, mommies-to-be, couples deciding whether or not to have children, couples adjusting to parenthood, and women as young as 18. I enjoy working with expecting mothers, providing support for women during the postpartum period and those grieving due to a miscarriage, and helping all mothers navigate motherhood. Also, I work with couples that are expecting and couples that have recently given birth.

As a new mother, working with this population is important to me. Becoming a mother is so fulfilling but can also bring challenges. I work with expecting mothers, providing support for women during the postpartum period, and helping all mothers navigate motherhood while providing support and a listening ear.

It is so special to work with women of all walks of life and empower them to recognize their full potential. I assist women to achieve their full potential, empowering them to live the life they deserve and wish for. Also, I help my clients navigate life transitions and the challenges that can bring. Being a woman doesn’t mean you constantly have to be superwoman handling everything on your own. I am here to support you in achieving your goals, to believe and be proud of yourself and the world you’ve created for yourself.

During my doctorate program at NSU, I wrote and defended my Applied Clinical Project, Couples Deciding Whether or Not to Have a First Child. This became the foundation of working with couples navigating through this life decision. Also, I work with expecting couples and parents adjusting to parenthood. We work together to facilitate discussions, process how this decision will alter their lives individually and as a couple, and how to navigate this new chapter in their lives. Deciding whether or not to have children and/or being new parents in a relationship is a life transition that can bring new challenges. I am here to have discussions and present different perspectives. Together, we find common ground where you can come together as a team, while still maintaining your relationship. Counseling can provide a safe place to have these discussions with your partner or yourself individually to process and recognize your wants or concerns regarding this huge life decision.

My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space to be able to have open conversations for my clients to reach their goals. My intention is to empower and guide my clients to feel heard and understood. Also, I help my clients to discover their strengths and what they are capable of throughout challenges and life transitions.
